11th – First public demonstration of telegraph message sent in morse code by Samuel Morse 1838

13th – Michael Bond born 1926

14th - International Kite Day

15th – World Religion Day

16th - Martin Luther King Jr Day

17th – Robert Scott reached the South Pole 1912

18th – Winnie-the-Pooh Day

19th – International Flower Day

20th – Penguin Awareness Day

21st – Red Squirrel Appreciation Day

22nd – Brian Wildsmith born 1930, Philippa Pearce born 1920, Chinese New Year of the Rabbit starts

23rd – Handwriting Day
