Hello, my name is Gwenydd and I am 4 years old.
I would like to share my calendar songs that I sing with my mummy to help me learn the days of the week and months of the year, and the weather.
Days of the Week
For the Days of the Week song, you sing it to the tune of The Adams Family, you can clap or click when it says to, like this -
Days of the week (click, click),
Days of the week (click, click),
Days of the week, days of the week,
Days of the week (click, click).
There's Monday and there's Tuesday,
There's Wednesday and there's Thursday,
There's Friday and there's Saturday,
and then there's Sunday.
Days of the week (click, click),
Days of the week (click, click),
Days of the week, days of the week,
Days of the week (click, click).
Months of the Year
For the Months of the Year song, you sing it to the tune of 10 Little Indians. We didn't know this song before, so we had to look it up to get the right tune.
(search "Months of the Year 10 Little Indians")
January, February, March and April,
May and June and July and August,
September, October, November, December,
The 12 months of the year.
The Weather Song
For the Weather Song, you sing it to the tune of London Bridge, my mummy always sings my name, like this -
What's the weather like today?
Like today,
Like today?
What's the weather like today?
My dear, Gwenydd.
Then I look out of the window or around me and shout "it's cloudy!" or "it's rainy!" or "it's sunny!" or "it's windy!" and sometimes even "it's foggy" or "it's snowy!".
When we first learned the songs, mummy used to point to the weekdays and months, but now I point to them and change the calendar all by myself!
We sing the calendar songs most mornings and I change my calendar to the right date and weather, except when we're late, then we sing them on the walk to school!
(Dictated by Gwenydd, typed by mummy)
Beautiful songs.
Brilliant work gwenydd 💖
